It’s March and that means Spring Break for many area schools and colleges. For KTS, Spring Break is a busy time. Many of our education customers take advantage of this quieter time on campus to have us help them get things done. It’s a great opportunity to address issues that are impacting their communications network without causing much disruption to students, faculty and staff.
Some of the issues we are addressing include:
Poor Cellular Reception
If a campus has issues with cellular reception, there are solutions. The most straightforward solution to address poor cellular reception across the campus is a Bidirectional Amplifier (BDA). A BDA amplifies and redirects the cell signal to the areas with poor cell reception eliminating “dead zones” and improving the ability to make and receive cell calls campus-wide.
Improving Wireless Access
If your wireless connections are not supporting your needs, you may need to increase the number and locations of your access points or upgrade the ones you have. As more of our interactions have become remote and paperless, we need more access to wireless networks to do our jobs. Wireless access points in the right locations make this happen. Read how we helped Lahey Health with their wireless access issues.
Structured Cabling
Structured cabling is the backbone of your communications infrastructure. If that backbone isn’t strong enough to support all of your network communication needs, no amount of new equipment will make your network faster. Communication speed starts with that structured cabling. If you are still supporting your network with Cat-6 cabling, the speed of your network has an upper limit. With so much of your day-to-day work demanding greater speed, you need to be sure your network is up to the job. If not, we can help you find the right solution to get you up to speed.
