External Wireless Network Installed for Leading University
With state-of-the-art facilities, Bentley University turned to KTS to install an external wireless network for reliable WIFI when enjoying campus life outside. With an expanding campus, the Waltham, MA university sought to establish a reliable wireless network for faculty and students including popular locations such as football, baseball and track fields, bus stops, and the campus quad. Named “Green Space”, the outside WIFI initiative is a multi-phased effort enabling connectivity to support and enhance student life on Bentley’s campus.
Inside Out
The KTS team worked from buildings’ interiors to the exterior to install the external wireless network. Nuances of architectural designs can present unique challenges when trying to extend cables from the interior to the exterior of buildings. In some cases, drilling of more than 3 feet of brick wall was required to penetrate the exterior to establish the WAP.
