Improving Cellular Reception in the Workplace
People are beginning the return to the office. We know it will look different, there are new seating configurations, there may be many who will adopt a hybrid work model and only come in to the office on some days. There is nervous and excited anticipation as we move toward being back together in the office. There are discussions about what will be the same and what will be different as we move forward.
There is one thing that should be different – the quality of your cell reception. You know what we’re talking about, the office has been largely empty for two years and as the team returns to the office, they are going to realize that the dead zones around the building are still the same. The IT and facilities teams will be fielding complaints from frustrated folks returning to the office!
For a variety of reasons, buildings can have areas where cellular reception is poor. Older buildings often have thick brick or concrete walls, and newer buildings tend to have LEED certified windows. Both of these can block cell signals. Bi-directional amplifiers (BDAs) are a straightforward solution to poor cellular reception. They amplify the cell signal, improving cell reception throughout the building. (For a more detailed description of how a cellular BDA works, read our blog Demystifying the Cellular BDA.)
As we return to the office, whatever that looks like for your workplace, ditch the dead zones. If your cellular reception is less than optimal, KTS can help. We can work with your IT department or Facilities team to improve cellular reception. Contact us to find out more about cellular BDAs and other ways to improve your cell reception.
